UK Fund Distribution Firm Strengthens AsiaPac Business Through Partnership With Indus

Harrington Cooper, the UK-based fund distribution company, has partnered with Indus Capital (Hong Kong) in a deal that will provide UK investors with access to Asia-Pacific markets.

Indus Capital (Hong Kong) is an affiliate of Indus Capital Partners, the fund management firm founded by ex-Soros Fund Management partners in 2000 that now has around $4.9 billion in funds under management.

Under the terms of the deal, Harrington Cooper will distribute the daily-dealing UCITS Indus Select Asia-Pacific Fund, which is managed by John Pinkel, a China veteran with 26 years of investment experience. Pinkel is supported by four analysts and by Tokyo-based Japan veteran Howard Smith. The strategy's performance has returned 96.1 per cent since it started in 1 January 2009.

The latest partnership comes on the heels of Harrington Cooper's tie-ups with Electrica Asset Management, Bellevue Asset Management and RobecoSAM.
