Taylor Young Investment Management, a London-based predominately private client asset management firm, is keen to develop along the same lines as Fleming Family & Partners multi-family office, according to the firm’s chief executive Peter Thomson. Mr Thomson told WealthBriefing that Taylor Young has grown rapidly in the last few years and now has around £500 million ($922.6 million) of assets under management with more than half of this managed for private clients and trusts. “Although our client base still predominately lies among those with between £500,000 and £1 million, we are increasingly managing money for the ultra-high net worth,” he said. “We are keen to attract more of these clients.” Taylor Young has more than doubled AUMs in the last two years and has significantly grown the average size of portfolios managed as well. Mr Thomson said clients have been attracted by the asset manager’s strong personal service and performance of its investments, which rely heavily on a “thematic approach”. He added that Taylor Young is keen to grow the business rapidly with new hires and even through acquisition if the right partner can be found. “We are not looking to sell ourselves – if anything a stock market listing would be the most appropriate course of action in a few years time.”
