UK Boutique Creates COO Role

UK-based PSigma Investment Management has appointed Nina Krishna to the newly-created role of chief operating officer.

Krishna was formerly COO for global banking, markets and private banking for HSBC in Dubai, and she also previously spent 12 years at JP Morgan, holding a variety of roles on both the institutional and private client sides of the business. Over the course of her career, which began at Chemical Bank, she has been responsible for running business support teams across EMEA, Geneva, Hong Kong and Singapore.

Krishna will initially focus on developing PSigma’s operational infrastructure to support the strategic growth of the business, the firm said in a statement.

PSigma became 100 per cent-owned by Punter Southall Group in February this year. The group previously owned a 50 per cent stake in PSigma, which was set up in 2007, and the remainder was owned by the founding partners. As a result of the deal, Bill Mott and Ian Chimes, two of the founding partners of PSigma, became shareholders in Punter Southall Group.

In other more recent developments, in March PSigma and TwentyFour Asset Management teamed up to launch the TwentyFour Focus Bond Fund - a vehicle designed to generate a more predictable return for investors by only investing in bonds expected to redeem by 2016. By targeting a redemption window in this way, investors can expect to achieve a relatively stable level of income and at the same time minimise the “duration risk” inherent in most other fixed interest funds, the firms believe. It aims for a yield of about 7 per cent net of charges.
