UK Asset Manager Names CEO

UK-listed F&C Asset Management has appointed Richard Wilson as its chief executive officer, with effect from the start of next year, subject to the necessary regulatory approvals. In the meantime, however, Wilson will join the firm’s board as an executive director with immediate effect.
Wilson is currently responsible for F&C’s investment and distribution activities and has held various senior management positions at the firm. Before joining F&C he was head of international equities at Gartmore and managing director of global equities at Deutsche Asset Management.
Edward Bramson, who was appointed executive chairman of F&C on an interim basis in October 2011, will revert to his role as non-executive chairman of the board once the firm has released its preliminary financial results for this year.
In other recent appointments, last month F&C hired Ross Duncton as head of direct to consumer, based in its London office. Duncton joined from Acromas Financial Services, where he was head of product and marketing, a role encompassing Acromas brands including Saga and the AA.
