UK Accounting Firm Launches Asia-Focused Unit

Smith & Williamson, the UK-based accountancy and investment management firm, is formally launching its Asian business on 14 May 2013.

The launch of Asian Business Group will be held at the firm's Moorgate office. Although operating from the UK, the division will focus on advising entrepreneurs, owner-managed businesses, high net worth individuals and corporations in or interested in the Asian region.

It is to be headed by Harish Dass, who joined the company in January this year as associate director of the London tax and business services practice.

"We expect to growth significantly over the next five to ten years," said Dass in a statement. "Clients can expect to receive holistic advice tailored to their specific business or financial needs."

Smith & Williamson is one of the largest accounting firms in the UK with some £14 billion in funds under management as of 31 March 2013. While now has an Asia-focused business, its 11 principal offices are located across Europe.
