UK's NewSmith Adds Two Senior Hires To London Office

NewSmith Asset Management appointed Michael Wahnich as head of risk and Guy Jackson as head of compliance.

NewSmith Asset Management, has appointed Michael Wahnich as head of risk and Guy Jackson as head of compliance.

Wahnich joins from International Asset Management, where he was head of risk. He has extensive risk experience and was previously at Brevan Howard from 2006 to 2012 where he oversaw equity and systematic trading.

Jackson joins from Nutmeg, where he was compliance officer and money laundering reporting officer. He was previously head of compliance positions at Rexiter Capital Management and Inscape (Santander’s wealth management division).

“Michael and Guy’s appointments add to the bench strength in NewSmith as we expand the product offering and work deeper with our partners at SuMi TRUST, one of Japan’s biggest institutional investors.  These additional team members join those who came on board earlier this year: Nick Watts as Partner and Vice Chairman and Matthew Wright from Carmignac as Head of UK and European Distribution,” said chief executive Ron Carlson.
