UK's Jupiter Adds To Senior Management Team

London-based asset manager Jupiter has appointed Jason McAleer as head of dealing, replacing Jane Philips who left the firm after 12 years in September.

London-based asset manager Jupiter has appointed Jason McAleer as head of dealing, replacing Jane Philips who left the firm after 12 years in September.

McAleer joins after 14 years at Newton Investment Management, where he spent the past nine as head of dealing. Before this, he worked as a dealer at Sarasin Investment Management and Chase Asset Management. He will be responsible for managing Jupiter’s team of eight dealers and developing the team’s capabilities.

According to media reports, Jupiter is looking to sell its private client business after receiving an unsolicited bid for the division.

Jupiter Fund Management saw its assets under management increase 6 per cent to £31.7 billion ($51.9 billion) in the three months to 31 December 2013, up from £29.9 million at the end of the third quarter 2013.

Overall net inflows for the quarter were £510 million, taking cumulative net inflows for the full year to £1.2 billion, while the private client division saw an outflow of £10 million for the final quarter.
