Edinburgh-based specialist global equities manager Aubrey Capital Management has confirmed it is launching a new emerging market consumer fund in January.

The fund is understood to invest in consumer-related companies such as travel, property, retail and healthcare.

Management will be divided between investment manager Andrew Dalrymple and new hire Rob Brewis on the Asian side, and John Ewart, who will focus on Latin America. The fund will be Luxembourg-domiciled.

Aubrey Capital Management was founded in Edinburgh in 2006 as a global investment boutique by Andrew Dalrymple, Barry McCorkell, Sharon Bentley-Hamlyn and Lynne Thornton. Aubrey is in part backed by Treasury Group, the listed Australian specialist investment and financial services business.

Aubrey Capital Management has seen funds under management reach £350 million ($587.4 million) in the past year.

These are divided between the global equity funds run by Aubrey founder Andrew Dalrymple and his team of international analysts, Sharon Bentley-Hamlyn’s European fund, and the private client offering headed by Barry McCorkell and Simon Milne.
