UK's Atlantic Screen Group Launches Film Score EIS

If investors have ever wondered how to make money out of the latest film soundtrack, then help may be at hand. UK-based Atlantic Screen Group has had an application for an Enterprise Investment Scheme approved that will offer private investors the opportunity to invest up to £150,000 (around $228,740) in film scores.

The group has already launched two EIS funds for the production of film music scores with Octopus Investments and is raising a further £4 million to produce a further 40 scores.

Recent successful Atlantic Group film scores include Dredd, Great Expectations, The Host and the BBC TV series Dancing On The Edge.

EIS vehicles are tax-advantaged structures, originally set up in 1995 by the-then Conservative government, to help smaller, higher-risk trading companies to raise finance by offering a range of tax reliefs to investors who purchase new shares in those companies. The investment freedoms of EIS structures have been recently widened, which has encouraged investors such as family offices to look at them, this publication has been told.
