UBS WM division adds high producer in New England

Ex-Goldman Sachs advisor joins just-recruited Deutsche Bank team in Boston. Early this month, former Goldman Sachs advisor Jerry Nigro joined UBS' U.S. wealth-management unit in Boston. He reports to UBS Boston branch head Max Bardeen, who manages a team of about 20 advisors.

Nigro brought in $2.2 million in commissions and fees on assets of $540 million in 2007, according to Dow Jones, which cites "a person familiar with his production."

Experienced applicants

Nigro had been with Goldman for about three years. Before that he was a financial counselor with Saratoga Springs, N.Y.-based Ayco, which Goldman acquired in 2003.

Last month UBS' Boston wealth-management team added a four-man team of former Deutsche Bank brokers that is said to have produced $8.4 million in commissions and fees on assets of $1.1 billion.

The advisors -- Brian Mulvey, Douglas Sanders, Michael Jennings and Robin Monleon -- had been at Deustche Bank for at least seven years, according to FINRA.

In April UBS said it was suspending recruitment aimed at unseasoned brokers in favor of those with established books. -FWR
