UBS Veteran Returns To Head Global Asset Management Asia

Kai Sotorp

An 11-year UBS veteran has returned to the Swiss bank's global asset management business as head of Asia-Pacific, after a stint in Chicago and a brief retirement.

Kai Sotorp will be returning from 3 September. He will be based in Hong Kong and will report to John Fraser, chairman and chief executive of UBS Global Asset Management.

Sotorp held a number of senior roles between 2000 and 2011. He was previously head of Asia-Pacific between 2002 and 2004 and head of Americas between 2004 and 2010. Sotorp retired in 2010 but stayed in the US in a number of consulting roles.

He replaces Christof Kutscher, who left the bank to return to Europe earlier this year.

Scott Keller, who has been acting head of Asia-Pacific since April this year, continues in his role of head of Pan Asia, reporting to Sotorp. He runs institutional distribution, including fund distribution into UBS Wealth Management.
