UBS Suspends London Based International Wealth Managers Pending Investigation

WealthBriefing has learnt that UBS Wealth Management in London has suspended several staff in its International Business Unit pending an investigation. The staff are thought to include Andrew Cummings, Sachin Karpe and Jaspreet Ahuja. UBS has issued the following statement: "In January one of our standard control procedures revealed some irregularities within the international part of our wealth management business in London which caters for offshore clients. We began an investigation as a result of which we have to date suspended four individuals. The issues involve unauthorised activities on a small number of client accounts. We are in close contact with the clients concerned to address the situation. We are conducting a thorough investigation and believe that we have a good understanding of what happened and the extent of the problem. Both the FSA and EBK have been informed of these irregularities. "As ever, our clients’ interests are our main concern and we have been working hard to ensure minimal disruption and inconvenience to them."
