UBS Names India Desk Head In Hong Kong

UBS has appointed Jaya Jayaram as executive director and India desk head to be based in Hong Kong.

Jayaram officially assumed her new role in 13 August, the company said in an internal memo seen by WealthBriefing Asia.

She steps in from Deutsche Bank Private Wealth Management Hong Kong, where she was in charge of the North Asia/Hong Kong desk for Indian clients. Prior to that, she served key wealth management roles at Societe Generale and the Bank of America.

Jayaram reports to Vinay Gandhi, the regional head of the non-resident Indian business based in Singapore, and will be responsible for developing the bank's India franchise in Hong Kong.

The announcement came just shortly after two of its Hong Kong wealth executives, Dominik Fuerst and Adeline Chien, left the firm. Chien has joined EFG Bank's Hong Kong office, while Fuerst is pursing a career with another firm. UBS has yet to name their replacements.
