Following a senior move as exclusively reported by this news service in June, UBS has filled a vacancy caused by the change. The bank has also appointed an ex-Barclays figure.
The UK team at the UBS
global wealth management (GWM) business has appointed former
Barclays figure David
Stone as a client advisor, and François-Olivier Mercier as
head of global family and institutional wealth (GFIW) UK,
according to a memo seen by WealthBriefing.
Mercier had held the position since 12 June after Michael Frey
– as
exclusively reported by WealthBriefing – was
promoted to head for high net worth business in the UK.
Throughout his career at UBS, Mercier has served in several
positions and continued most recently as team lead, global family
and institutional wealth, UK. His experience includes roles in
global markets, equity capital management (ECM) block trades, and
head of the Europe, Middle East and Africa ECM syndicate within
the investment bank for UBS, before he joined global wealth
management in 2023.
In May, UBS appointed appointed Bradley Russell as head of
Manchester and the NorthWest.
