UBS In Taiwan Creates New Unit, Names Leader

UBS in Taiwan has appointed Linyun Chang to the newly created role of head of UBS ADVICE, a new business under UBS Wealth Management, taking effect from the start of August.

UBS in Taiwan has appointed Linyun Chang to the newly-created role of head of UBS ADVICE, a new business under UBS Wealth Management, taking effect from the start of August.

Previously, he had led the retail business of Blackrock Asia ex-Japan and Merrill Lynch Investment Managers in Taiwan.

"UBS is optimistic about the growth potential of high-end wealth management market in Taiwan,” Dennis Chen, CEO of UBS Wealth Management Taiwan said.

The Swiss bank, in setting out the background for its UBS ADVICE venture, cited recent data from Boston Consulting Group that predicted that the growth of the high net worth population in Asia will overtake that of North America in 2017.

“The statistics fully demonstrate the growth potential of Asia, especially Taiwan. After introducing UBS ADVICE in Singapore and Hong Kong and receiving positive feedbacks, UBS chose Taiwan as the third market for UBS ADVICE. The service will bring more innovative and thoughtful services to NHW wealth management clients in Taiwan,” UBS said.
