UBS Hires $450 Million Trio From Merrill Lynch

UBS has hired a team of three financial advisors from Merrill Lynch for its Framlington Hills, Michigan branch.
Stepping in with a combined production of $2.85 million and $450 million in assets under management are Makram Talia, Robert Loupee, and Michael Graziani. Talia has been an advisor for Merrill Lynch for 33 years, Loupee for five years, and Graziani for 16 years. All three will report to John Bush, the complex director for Framlington Hills.
All together, the firm said it has just completed a "very successful week" in terms of hiring, bringing in advisors with approximately $7 million in production and $994 million in assets under management. As well as the hires in Farmington Hills, it added staff in Denver, Colorado; New York; Bloomington, Indiana; and Fort Worth, Texas.
This is despite job cuts at the Swiss firm, including at its wealth management businesses worldwide. The bank clarified, however, that it will not shed from its roster of client-facing advisors in the US.
