UBS Forges Research Coverage Alliance On Indian, UK Stocks

UBS has entered into a strategic alliance with Noble, a research-led investment bank that specializes in UK and Indian mid- and small-cap stocks, as part of a move to deepen its research capabilities for its clients.

“Our strategic alliance with Noble expands our research product and offers clients an in-depth understanding of a broader universe of stocks. Research into India’s small and mid-cap companies will provide our clients with invaluable insights into potential investment opportunities,” said Mark Steinert, global head of equities research.

Noble is headquartered in the UK. It initiated research coverage of Indian companies in September 2008 and has eight Mumbai-based analysts covering 27 companies, with coverage scheduled to expand to 70 stocks by the end of 2009.

Under the terms of the alliance, UBS will refer international institutions seeking greater knowledge about the country’s mid and small- cap sector to Noble while retaining responsibility for trading and execution.
