UBS Consolidates US Wealth Management Business, Reshuffles Staff

UBS is reorganising its US wealth management arm in a move which will see its divisions consolidated and senior staff reshuffled.
Robert McCann, chief executive of wealth management Americas, and Robert Mulholland, head of the Americas wealth management advisor group, reportedly outlined the changes in two internal memos sent to staff.
The plan will see UBS group its New York and New Jersey market areas into a single region and consolidate its wealth business into two rather than three divisions: an east division led by David McWilliams and a west division led by Michael Schweitzer.
The staff changes announced are as follows:
Diane Frimmel, current chief operating officer of wealth management Americas, will head UBS's emerging affluent segment and investment centre, joining the wealth management advisor group leadership team and reporting to Mr Mulholland. Tom Naratil has been appointed as Ms Frimmel's successor as wealth management Americas COO on an interim basis.
Paul Santucci will become COO of the Americas wealth management advisor group, in charge of recruiting and talent development, and managing daily operations related to real estate, finance, projects and risk, this publication understands.
Valerie Rowland will lead the branch chief operations office, reporting to Mr Santucci.
Jason Chandler, currently northeast regional manager, will become head of the private wealth management division, managing the bank's ultra high net worth business. US private wealth office managers will report to Mr Chandler.
John Straus will head strategic client relationships in a newly-created position, coordinating advisory services for ultra high net worth clients and reporting to Brian Hull, head of wealth management partnerships.
Bill Carroll, currently market area manager for New Jersey, will become national sales manager.
New positions for Mara Glassel, who led national sales for over four years, and Robyn Turk, who helped launch the investment centre, have not yet been announced.
