UBS Bolsters Ohio Broker Force With $1 Billion Ex-Merrill Trio

UBS Wealth Management Americas has reinforced its broker force in Ohio with a team of advisors from Bank of America's Merrill Lynch.

A spokesperson confirmed to Family Wealth Report that advisors Robert Anning, along with his son John Anning and Tollie Chavis, previously served as senior vice presidents.

Based in Cincinnati, they managed over $1 billion in client assets and last year produced more than $3 million in annual revenue. According to regulatory filings, Robert Anning had been at Merrill for over 40 years.

At the start of the month UBS also bolstered its broker force in Aventura, FL, bringing in a team of advisors from Morgan Stanley Wealth Management.

Advisors Michael Bulhack, Mario Ponczek and Douglas Ponczek previously managed $423 million in client assets and generated $1.6 million in annual revenue. According to Reuters, they were legacy Citigroup Smith Barney advisors who joined Morgan Stanley Wealth Management following the merger of Citi's Smith Barney and Morgan Stanley's wealth unit in 2009. Prior to Citi, they were at Lehman Brothers.
