UBS and Credit Suisse Win Accolades at International Private Banking Awards

It’s been a good week for UBS in Singapore. After the announcement this week of the launch of the bank's private banking training campus in Singapore, UBS has beaten off rivals to win the Outstanding Global Private Bank Award at last night’s Private Banker International awards which were held in the city state. Other award winners included Walter Berchtold, chief executive of Credit Suisse Private Banking who received the Outstanding Global Private Banker 2006 award and Julius Baer which won the accolade of bank transformation of 2006. On a regional basis, the top Asian private bank award went to Singapore-based DBS which beat both National Australia Bank and India’s ICICI to the title. The “outstanding private banker in the region” was named as Daniel Truchi, chief executive of SG Private Banking (Asia Pacific) who is based in Singapore. Top young banker for Asia went to Hong Kong-based Teresa Lee, a vice president at ABN Amro Private Banking Asia.
