New Office
UBS Expands In Manchester

The group is on a regional growth spurt, focused on serving entrepreneurs.
Touting a 15-year presence in the region, UBS Global Wealth Management is opening a new expanded office in Manchester.
The firm is moving its 10-person team from Marsden Street to larger premises in the heart of Manchester’s Spinningfields commercial hub. It said demand for services from entrepreneurs and plans to expand the team there warranted the move.
The Swiss manager hired Mike Stirrup from Brown Shipley earlier this year to help grow financial services in the northwest, and has been vocal about creating a stronger footprint outside London to capture local business growth. It reinforced this in April when regions head Jonathan Brown joined UBS' UK & Jersey management committee. The firm said business has doubled across the UK regions over the past five years, with offices in Manchester, Leeds, Newcastle, Jersey and Birmingham. Opening a new flagship office in Edinburgh last year has boosted assets managed in Scotland by almost 30 per cent, the firm said.
Signing a 10-year lease on the new Manchester premises “highlights our long-term commitment to helping entrepreneurs in the region meet their financial goals,” Simon Pearson, North West regional head, said.
