UBP Appoints New Dubai Senior Executive Officer

The new SEO – subject to regulatory clearance – comes from Credit Suisse, where he worked in the bank's Qatar branch; he has been in the sector for more than two decades.

  Bancaire Privée has appointed a new senior executive officer
  for its Dubai office, subject to regulatory approval, it
  announced today. 
  
  The appointee, who is former Credit Suisse figure Arfat Qayyum
  (pictured below), is succeeding Mohamed Shoukry.

  Qayyum brings more than 20 years’ experience in financial
  services, working in North America and the Middle East.
  Previously, he worked at Credit Suisse’s Qatar branch, most
  recently as CEO. Before this, Qayyum was head of private
  banking and wealth management at Al Khalij Commercial Bank, with
  Qatar and UAE responsibilities.
  
  In his new role, Qayyum will report to Walid Shash and Mohamed
  Abdellatif, co-heads of the Middle East and Africa (MEA)
  region. 
  
  “As SEO of the Dubai office, his mission will be to drive UBP’s
  growth ambitions in the MEA region, where we continue to see
  strong demand from UHNWIs, institutional clients, and family
  offices for bespoke wealth management and investment solutions.
  He will focus on expanding our local investment capabilities and
  enhancing our range of Sharia compliant solutions,” UBP said in a
  statement.
