Threshold Names West Coast Chief

Threshold Group has named Kristen Powers Bauer as its West Coast head of family office services.

Bauer, who works in Threshold’s West Coast office in the Seattle area, will team up with Dan Geary, her counterpart in Philadelphia, and the pair will oversee Threshold’s wealth management relationships with families. Their roles include co-managing the firm’s relationship management staff as well as working directly with families.

“Kristen has always played a vital role in how we work closely with families, and Dan brings his own longstanding and proven client relationship skills. Their working together is a natural progression for our organization as we structure ourselves to work with a select number of families across the country,” Ed Lazar, president, said in a statement.

Bauer has helped lead the development and growth of Threshold’s family office services since its inception as a single family office in 1999. She was hired by Threshold’s founding family, George and Jane Russell, when the Russell family sold Frank Russell Company, the firm now known as Russell Investments.

Threshold, which is based in Gig Harbor, Washington, acquired Philadelphia-based Ashbridge Investment Management earlier this year.

Geary joined the firm last spring from Convergent Wealth Advisors as head of the east coast office in Philadelphia, FWR reported in June.
