Threadneedle Strengthens Its Latin American Fund Team

Threadneedle , the UK asset management firm, has appointed Daniel Isidori as fund manager for Latin America.

Having previously co-managed a $1 billion Latin American active equity fund at Baring Asset Management, Isidori will lead investments in the region as part of the Asia (ex Japan) and global emerging markets equities team headed by Vanessa Donegan.

Having managed a $200 million Brazilian and Argentinean equity fund for HSBC asset management, Isidori is well placed to manage Threadneedle’s Latin American fund, the firm said in a statement. Isidori’s new vehicle totals £1.2 billion of investments.

Isidori’s appointment follows a recent trend of expansion in the international markets by Threadneedle, a subsidiary of Ameriprise Financial. Last month saw the appointment of three former Merrill Lynch employees to the firm's operations in Asia, where its offices are based in Hong Kong and Singapore.
