Threadneedle Loses Two Fund Managers To Polar Capital

London-based international asset manager Threadneedle has lost two US equity fund managers, Andrew Holliman and Richard Wilson, to rival firm Polar Capital.

Threadneedle confirmed that Holliman, who had been at the firm since 2004 and was latterly in charge of the Threadneedle Global Extended Alpha Fund, and Wilson, who joined the firm more recently and was in charge of various institutional funds and segregated mandates, have left.

Head of US equities at Threadneedle, Cormac Weldon, will take over the running of the US fund with support from Stephen Moore, while fund manager Jeremy Podger will take control of the Extended Alpha fund, supported by Steve Thornber.

In related news, Polar Capital poached William Calvert, Ming Kemp and Neil Denman from AXA Framlington to create a global emerging markets team in October last year.
