Thomas Miller Names Head For Offshore Private Investment Arm

Thomas Miller Investment, the UK organisation which, as discussed here, recently started an onshore offering, has appointed a head of its offshore private investment management business.
Thomas Miller Investment, the UK organisation which recently rolled out an onshore offering, said today that it has appointed a head of the offshore side of its private investment management business.
TMI, a member of the 127-year-old Thomas Miller Group of companies, has named Tom Richards to the role; he joins from Maitland, where he was senior investment manager in the investment services business on the Isle of Man. He started his investment career as a portfolio manager with the independent offshore firm Ramsey Crookall; before working as an investment manager with Quilter, part of Morgan Stanley Smith Barney Wealth Management. Prior to this he spent five years as an officer and pilot with the Royal Air Force.
Based on the Isle of Man, Richards will report to Mike Balfour, chief executive, Thomas Miller Investment.
Richards joined Thomas Miller Investment after Andrew Buchanan moved in January to the Private Investment Management Team in the Channel Islands.

Thomas Miller Investment has more than £2.8 billion ($4.54 billion) of client money, run for insurance mutuals, charities, governments and individuals.
