Thomas Miller's investment business has hired Towry's former director of wealth management and financial planning for its new Birmingham office.

The UK's Thomas Miller Investment has appointed Towry's Matt Swatton to head up its new branch in Birmingham.

Swatton was director of wealth management and financial planning at Towry. Before that, he was a financial advisor at Edward Jones.

“We want to increase our footprint across the UK and this is part of our plan to do so,” said Thomas Miller Investment's managing director, Matt Phillips.

“Matt’s expertise will help Birmingham and the surrounding areas benefit from the broad range of financial planning and wealth management services that Thomas Miller Investment offers.”

The firm recently hired Laythamm Malorey as head of international business development in the Isle of Man, in a bid to boost its offshore business.

Thomas Miller Investment, the investment and wealth management division of Thomas Miller, manages over £2.9 billion ($4.4 billion) of funds.
