The Hedge Fund Association Names US Regional Chapter Heads

The Hedge Fund Association has named Thalius Hecksher as regional director for its Southeast Chapter, and appointed Robert Sawyer to the newly-created role of regional director for the HFA’s Boston Chapter.
The Hedge Fund Association has named Thalius Hecksher as regional director for its Southeast chapter, and appointed Robert Sawyer to the newly-created role of regional director for the Boston, MA, chapter.
Hecksher is global managing director of business development for Apex Fund Services. He has over 18 years of experience working within the international financial markets and has significant expertise in the fund management and asset management sectors. Prior to joining Apex, he was head of sales for EMEA at Linedata Services and before that was a sales director at Thomson Financial (now Thomson Reuters).
Sawyer’s practice at Foley Hoag is focused on investment advisors and private investment funds including hedge funds, private equity and venture capital funds. As co-chair of the firm’s investment management practice, he assists advisors with the formation and structuring of domestic and offshore investment funds, as well as regulatory compliance matters.
The Hedge Fund Association is an international not-for-profit organization made up of hedge funds, funds of hedge funds, family offices, high net worth individuals, financial advisors, and service providers.
In the US, the HFA has chapters in the Northeast, Southeast, Midwest and on the West Coast. Internationally, it has chapters in Europe, Asia, Australia, Latin America and the Cayman Islands.
