Tenet Hires Two For Training, Regulation

Tenet, the UK advisor support group, has appointed Simon Thomas as head of regulatory policy and David Pearce as head of training.

Previously, Thomas worked at Lloyds Banking Group as regulatory developments manager in the firm's UK wealth division. In his new role he will be responsible for policy within Tenet’s regulated businesses, and oversee its compliance audit activities and the dispute resolution team.

Pearce will be responsible for the group training function and be heavily involved in the advisor development programme. Previously he worked with independent financial advisors for Friends Life and the Chartered Insurance Institute.

“The major challenge at the moment is of course to help our clients complete their RDR business transformation and deliver sound, business-focused guidance to them to ensure compliance,” said Thomas.

“We need to recognise that the regulatory environment is still going through a period of significant change and firms need to adapt to this as well. Delivering fair outcomes to customers and managing conduct risk has to be part of advisory firms’ DNA and this will be foremost in my mind.”
