The Swiss financial technology firm Temenos has announced that its T24 core banking system has been ranked in first spot in the IBS Intelligence sales league table, the 14^th consecutive year it has held one of the top two positions.

The IBS Sales League Table is published by IBS Publishing and tracks software application sales across the core banking and treasury and capital markets.

While the number of deals overall fell by 11 per cent - and by 7 per cent in core banking specifically - Temenos’s service recorded a 22 per cent increase in deal volume, Temenos said in a statement. Temenos T24 won 33 new name core banking deals across a broad cross-section of the market, including at least one deal in every continent, it said.

Temenos said that only four vendors achieved more than 10 sales compared to six in 2011 and eight in 2007, highlighting a degree of consolidation in the sector.

Temenos has been shortlisted for an award under WealthBriefing Awards 2013, with results to be announced on 2 May.
