TD Ameritrade Launches New Blackberry Application

US-based online broker TD Ameritrade has teamed up with software developers Market Simplified to give clients who carry BlackBerry smartphones easier access to accounts and asset information, according to a statement.
"Our clients are looking for more ways to stay connected to the markets and customise their trading experience. They want fast access to news, research and tools that can help them make confident, actionable investment decisions," said Jay Pestrichelli, managing director of TD Ameritrade’s trader group.
New technology allows TD Ameritrade clients to access account details, real-time quotes, market data, news and technical analysis tools on the hoof from BlackBerry smartphones and several other mobile devices.
Market Simplified's software is linked to TD Ameritrade's order routing and back-office management systems. Clients can use these mobile tools and services and also receive support, order routing and execution capabilities, security features and simple pricing. TD Ameritrade is making more niche trading tools and services, like this new mobile trading software, available to clients through its Application Program Interface.
The interface offers more functions, from risk management tools to technical analysis platforms, which give customers more freedom to customise their devices.
It also links clients to tools and services offered by commercial and individual third-party software developers that either complement or add to those currently available on the company's retail client platform. The developers can then connect to TD Ameritrade's order routing and back office systems.
