JHS Capital Advisors, the Tampa-based asset manager, has brought in William Owen as a financial advisor with a focus on the South Florida market.

Owen most recently served as a financial advisor at Morgan Stanley Smith Barney and currently manages $10 million in assets. During his eight years in the financial services industry, he has worked with pre-retirees and business owners on concerns related to estate planning, risk management and portfolio design.

JHS Capital Advisors manages some 336 accounts totalling approximately $93 million in assets under management as of 21 March 2011; it has yet to release updated AuM figures. In recent news, the company hired George Coronada as a vice president and financial advisor from RBC Wealth Management in October, and teamed up with Maguire Investments, a client advisory firm with $700 million in AuM, in August.
