Swiss Private Bank Names MD, Client Advisory In Singapore

Bank J Safra Sarasin, the Swiss private bank, has strengthened its Singapore arm with the appointment of an industry veteran.
Jeffrey Benjamin joins the company as managing director, client advisory in Singapore, bringing with him some 20 years of private banking experience. He was previously the managing director and team head of international private wealth at HSBC Private Bank (Suisse) in Singapore. Prior to that, he was head of specialised opportunities at the wealth management division of Investec Bank in London. He also worked for the international private banking group of Merrill Lynch in Singapore and Credit Suisse International Private Banking also in the city-state.
In this new role, he reports to Eric Morin, chief executive of the Singapore and South East Asia businesses. The appointment comes almost a month after Geraldine Low Ai Ping joined the Singapore arm also as managing director for client advisory.
Bank J Safra Sarasin started using this name in Asia in 1 July 2013 to reflect the strong capitalisation produced by the merger of Bank J Safra and Bank Sarasin, which was approved in 31 May. From 10 June, the combined entity started using its new name, headquartered in Basel, Switzerland.
