Swiss Banks Sign Fintech Pact

The partnership is set to be implemented by the end of 2017.

Two Swiss banks have signed a cooperation agreement to jointly develop a digital banking service.

Schwyzer Kantonalbank and Walliser Kantonalbank will partner and offer digital services together, in a bid to both become leading online financial services providers, the firms said in a statement yesterday.

WKB will now offer the services of e-hypo.ch, a solution developed and launched by SZKB in 2014. Both banks will continue to work on the platform to improve the solution.

"We have an ideal relationship with the SZKB, cooperation partner. It is economically more meaningful to share an existing platform as a new brand,” said Pascal Perruchoud, president of the directorate-general at WKB.

The partnership will be implemented by the end of this year.
