Five Swiss-based banks have launched a structured products association in an effort to increase understanding and acceptance of structured products, according to reports in the Swiss press. The Swiss Association for Structured Products was set up by ABN Amro, Credit Suisse, UBS, Vontobel and Zurich Kantonalbank. Roger Studer of Vontobel has been appointed head of the group and the deputy president is Luigi Vignola from ZKB. The organisation is loosely based on the US Structured Products Association, which has been very successful at raising interest in structured products in its home market.
