Swiss Banking, Wealth Management Association Names New President

One of the top figures at Vontobel is taking on the post at the Swiss organisation.
The
Association of Swiss Asset and Wealth Management Banks (VAV),
representing 23 Swiss banks, has voted to make Georg Schubiger,
co-chief executive of Vontobel, as its new
president.
Schubiger will be taking over from Giorgio Pradelli, CEO of EFG
International, who is to take over as chairman – as previously
reported – of the Swiss
Bankers Association.
Stefan Bollinger, CEO of Julius Baer, will become the new vice
president of the association, it said in a statement
yesterday.
Alexander Classen, chair of the board of directors of EFG
International, and Marcel Rohner, vice chairman of the board of
directors of Union Bancaire Privée, have also been newly elected
to the board of directors. All these appointments will take
effect on 18 September, the association added.
The VAV, to use its acronym derived from the German language
version of its name, has members collectively overseeing SFr267.5
($83.49) billion in assets, as of data for 2024 presented on its
website.
