Swedish banking group Handelsbanken is opening a branch in Norwich, one of the principal cities in the East Anglia region of the UK, to target high net worth individuals in the region. The new branch is the 16th in the UK for the group and is targeting personal clients with at least £200,000 ($375,065) in liquid assets. The bank has appointed Chris Hoffman to head its private client business in Norwich. Handelsbanken also said it plans to open branches in Cambridge and possibly Peterborough—all in the eastern part of the UK.
