Atlanta, GA-based SunTrust Bank is to transfer six of its wealth management advisors to Nashville, TN for “operating efficiency reasons,” according to local media reports.

The moves will not affect the firm’s operations as the advisors interact via telephone or email, spokesperson Hugh Suhr told The Commercial Appeal. 

In addition, the affected employees will be allowed to apply for “any other open positions within SunTrust” if they decide against moving to Nashville, Suhr said.

It is also understood that the firm will "continue to maintain a healthy wealth management presence in Chattanooga, TN," the publication reported. 

SunTrust Bank could not be reached before the time of publication.

The firm had total assets of $176.9 billion as of 31 December last year.
