Stanhope Capital Hires Nexar Co-Founder To Strengthen International Business

The UK-headquartered investment office has added a co-founder of Nexar Capital Group to its partnership.

Stanhope Capital has hired Bernard Kalfon as a partner to help drive business outside of the UK, primarily in France and Israel.

In 2009, Kalfon co-founded Nexar Capital Group, an alternative asset manager that was acquired by Union Bancaire Privée in 2012. He previously worked at Société Générale Asset Management, where he helped launch the hedge fund business unit of the bank. He brings more than 20 years’ experience in financial markets.

“Bernard Kalfon is a highly experienced professional who will help take us to the next stage of our international development,” said Daniel Pinto, chief executive and co-founder of Stanhope Capital.

“He has a proven track record in delivering successful investment solutions to global institutional and high net worth clients. His wealth of experience will bring a unique perspective to our business as we continue to strengthen our international private and institutional client base.”

Stanhope Capital oversees around $9.5 billion of investment assets for wealthy entrepreneurs, families, charities and other global institutions.

Among other developments at Stanhope, in March, it received clearance by the Jersey Financial Services Commission to do business in Jersey. That development was part of Stanhope's drive to further its outreach in the Channel Islands. The new office is led by founder-directors David Nolan and Jonathan Overland, who have been non-executive directors of Stanhope Group since 2011.
