Standard Chartered’s Private Banking Vice Chair Is Stepping Down

One of the most senior figures at the banking group is stepping down.
Vivian Chan is retiring at the end of June from her role as
global vice chairman, private banking at Standard
Chartered. She has been at the bank for more than nine
years.
Chan, who joined the UK-listed banking group as region head,
private banking for Greater China and North Asia in January
2017, was promoted to her current role in October 2022.
“Vivian is an industry legend who holds a distinguished
reputation with clients, building deep and enduring relationships
that span multiple generations. She is a trusted advisor who
approaches clients with passion, professionalism and always
anticipating and meeting their needs,” Raymond Ang, global head,
private bank and affluent clients, and head, wealth and retail
banking for Greater China and North Asia, said.
“Through her pursuit of excellence and uncompromising dedication
to clients, she has been a pillar of strength to Standard
Chartered Global Private Bank. I want to extend my gratitude to
Vivan for her partnership and friendship and wish her all the
very best as she begins a new chapter in her life,” Ang
said.
The bank said in a statement that Chan has been instrumental in
advancing Standard Chartered’s global private banking franchise
and a major driver of its UHNW growth strategy.
