Standard Chartered Names New Chief Executive For UAE

Standard Chartered has named Mohsin Nathani as the new chief executive for its business in the UAE.

Chartered has named Mohsin Nathani as the new chief executive
for its business in the UAE. He takes over from Jonathan Morris,
who has resigned from the bank to pursue other career
opportunities.
The appointment is effective as of 1 February. He was previously
CEO at Standard Chartered Pakistan where he held that role for
the past three years.
“I have previously worked in the UAE and I am pleased to return
to a place that both my family and I are very fond of. I am
looking forward to continuing the growth of our business and to
strengthening our relationships with customers, clients, staff,
regulators and the community at large,” Nathani said in a
statement.
Working in the industry for more than 20 years, he has worked in
East and South East Asia, Middle East and the Levant regions.
Prior to joining Standard Chartered in 2010, Nathani was the
country head and managing director of Barclays Bank in Pakistan.
His experience spreads across corporate banking, fixed income
markets and Islamic Banking.
Among other recent appointments, Standard Chartered named John Lee as executive director for West Africa in its private bank. Lee was previously director and desk head for Africa at HSBC Private Bank London.
