Standard Bank, South Africa’s banking group has appointed Phil Rose as senior portfolio manager for its Jersey-based advisory stockbroking team.

Mr Rose, who has 20 years of private client experience, will be responsible for managing the assets as well as wealth creation for international private clients. He joins the company from HSBC, where he was head of the discretionary investment management division in Jersey.

The company’s advisory stockbroking team specialises in providing portfolio management and stockbroking services to its client base with a focus on equity markets and an interest in technical analysis.

Mr Rose will also develop this offering by building long-term client relationships whilst ensuring clients are kept up to date with investment strategy and current recommendations.

In other recent developments, earlier this month Standard Bank’s offshore subsidiary has launched two new structured products, Quantum PLUS and Unicom.
