Square Mile
Investment Consulting & Research has created an online
resource showcasing funds it would recommend to its UK
clients.
The Square Mile Academy of Funds will be free for any advisor to
access and will grade funds as either A, AA or AAA, based on
various capabilities of the fund to achieve its objectives.
Details attached to each fund’s review include its key features,
Square Mile’s qualitative research, a breakdown of performance
and an overview of the fund’s risk profile, the firm said in a
statement.
The information on each fund has been gathered by Square Mile’s
eight-person research team and aims to help advisors match
investors’ goals with fund objectives.
The Academy also seeks to provide advisors with a fund’s
predicted investment outcomes, its capital accumulation and
preservation as well as inflation protection and income.
On top of this, it will offer ratings according to the risk each
fund carries according to an investor’s preference, dependent on
a fund’s ability to add value within its risk parameters.
Advisors will also be able to access a “positive prospects” list,
which notes if a manager, strategy or process is new to a fund
but it nevertheless has potential to deliver despite little
evidence in market conditions.
The Academy’s list will be subject to change upon a quarterly
review, where a fund’s performance and the drivers of return will
be checked.
Investment consulting company Square Mile will publish funds to
the Academy that it would recommend to its clients, which include
financial advisors, wealth managers, life companies and
investment platforms.
