UK law firm Speechly Bircham has appointed Alison Broadberry as head of its UK private client department.

Broadberry, who has been with Speechly Bircham since 2005, joined the firm from St James’s Place, where she held the role of divisional director, head of tax and trusts. Before that, Broadberry served as a financial planning director at Axa Sun Life, and as an associate director at Schroders.

Broadberry will be responsible for high net worth UK and non-UK domiciled clients on a range of tax and estate planning issues. In addition to this, she also heads Speechly Bircham's private wealth sector group, which co-ordinates the firm's work for business owners, family offices, wealth management organisations and their clients.
