South African Bank Absa Names Private Bank Head

South African bank Absa has named Hlengani Mathebula as the head of its private banking arm, Absa Private Bank, according to Business Day. Until his latest appointment, Mathebula had been general manager of Absa Private Bank. He joined the unit in July 2005, after UK- based bank Barclays acquired Sout Africa’s biggest retail bank. He holds several qualifications from the University of the North, Stellenbosch University, the University of Cape Town and the University of Johannesburg.
