South Africa, Kenya Sign DTA

South Africa and Kenya have signed a bilateral double taxation agreement and a memorandum of understanding on agricultural cooperation, both of which are aimed at removing some impediments to trade and investment, and at improving commercial relations.

The agreement was signed in the presence of South Africa’s deputy president, Kgalema Motlanthe, and Kenya’s vice president, Kalonzo Musyoka, during the former’s visit to Kenya.

The DTA is intended to provide increased scope for investment between the two countries by removing the possibilities of taxation being imposed on investors in both jurisdictions.
