SocGen Launches Bond Advisory Service For Private Clients

Société Générale Private Banking has launched a new analysis and advisory service for bond solutions as a response to what it describes as a growing interest among private clients in the asset class.

Based in both Europe and Asia, the French bank's team will combine performance research and risk management in all bonds and credit markets worldwide, both corporate and sovereign. SocGen will be supported by AMBA Research, an investment research provider.

The French bank said in a statement that high net worth individuals are currently boosting their range of bonds investments in emerging markets and in the high yield sector.

Last week, SocGen said it has cut its exposure to risk assets while taking the view that corporate bonds are still offering good value due to strong company balance sheets and benign monetary policy. The bank also said it prefers BBB-rated bonds, which it said have, until recently, lagged behind the bond market as a whole and which therefore look attractively priced.
