Smith & Williamson Appoints Financial Services Head In London

The UK-based group, which provides services including investment management, tax and financial advisory, has boosted its private client capabilities.

Smith & Williamson has appointed Daniela Glover to the new role of head of its financial services team in London.

The team is part of Smith & Williamson’s national financial services business, which advises personal financial planning and employee benefits for businesses. The national team employs around 85 people, of whom 34 are based in London, including nine partners and directors.

Glover, a chartered financial planner and member of the Chartered Insurance Institute, joined Smith & Williamson back in 2002. She became a partner in 2006.

“The financial services business is an essential part of Smith & Williamson’s offering to private clients and their business interests and it’s great news that Daniela is taking on this important new position,” said Peter Maher, national head of Smith & Williamson’s financial services business.

Earlier this month, Smith & Williamson reported a 3.4 per cent year-on-year rise in operating income to £222.5 million ($283.5 million) for the year ending 30 April 2016, with an operating profit of £36 million, a dip from last year’s record of £41 million.
