Skandia Appoints New Asia Fund Manager, Drops Aberdeen

Skandia Investment Group has chosen Peter Sartori, of the boutique investment firm Treasury Asia Asset Management, as one of the managers on Skandia’s Global Best Ideas Fund. Sartori was chosen to replace Aberdeen Asset Management’s Hugh Young, CityWire reported.

Mr Sartori was previously employed at Credit Suisse.

Skandia said the decision was made after the firm's research highlighted Treasury Asia Asset Management’s strong management capabilities, particularly its concentrated high conviction and opportunistic approach to investing.

The €38 million mandate will be run by Mr Sartori, who ran the Credit Suisse Equity (Lux) Asian Tigers fund before he left the group in May 2005.

Skandia said that despite the change it continues to hold  Aberdeen's Asia team in high regard and it will remain within other Skandia multi-manager funds.

Mr Sartori founded the Treasury Asia Asset Management firm in 2005. It has offices in Sydney and Singapore.
