SKAGEN Bolsters Global Team

SKAGEN, the Norwegian fund manager, has strengthened its global team with the hire of Knut Gezelius as a new portfolio manager from 12 May 2014.
SKAGEN, the Norwegian fund manager, has strengthened its global team with the hire of Knut Gezelius as a new portfolio manager from 12 May 2014.
Gezelius joins from Goldman Sachs Asset Management where he has been an executive director in the global equity team in London since 2010. There, he acted as buy-side analyst and global sector lead for stock selection of publicly listed equities in a team which actively manages GSAM’s global equity and European equity funds for institutional clients by investing in undervalued quality companies, using a bottom-up, stock-picking approach with a long‑term investment horizon.
Previously, Gezelius held the position of senior lead analyst at energy company Entergy Corporation in Houston, where he led multi‑disciplinary strategic planning teams evaluating infrastructure investments. Earlier in his career, Gezelius worked as a senior consultant at Applied Value Group, a professional services and investment group based in Boston.
"He brings valuable expertise to the team from a decade of wide-ranging, international experience across strategic planning, management consultancy and investment management,” said Kristian Falnes, lead portfolio manager of SKAGEN Global, when commenting on the appointment.
The hire follows the recent addition of Johan Swahn, who will join SKAGEN Global in March 2014, strengthening the existing portfolio management team of Kristian Falnes, Søren Milo Christensen and Chris Tommy Simonsen. Read more on that story, here.
